About the Role
As a Service Technician at EC, you’ll play a key role in keeping our technical equipment safe, reliable, and ready for use. You’ll be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and testing a wide range of lighting, AV, electrical, and rigging equipment so it can go out on shows in excellent working condition.
Your work helps maximise in service time for our kit, reduces unnecessary external hires, and ensures we meet health, safety, and quality standards at all times.
This is a hands on, practical role in a fast paced warehouse environment, with variety from day to day and occasional site visits when needed.

You’re organised and methodical in your approach, with the ability to plan, prioritise and see tasks through to completion
You’re a collaborative team player who is happy to roll up your sleeves and support others when needed. We all jump in wherever we are needed at EC.
You have strong communication skills. This role will support multiple stakeholders and have contact with almost everyone within the business.
You enjoy a variety of tasks and are able to prioritise your day, Event Concept is a fast-paced environment and being able to manage your own workload and communicate accordingly.
You have a good understanding of H&S in the workplace especially within warehouse environments
Day to day responsibilities
You’ll be responsible for a mix of planned and reactive tasks, including:
Performing equipment repairs across a wide range of lighting, AV, electrical and rigging equipment, while maintaining company and industry standards and working to agreed deadlines
Liaising with manufacturers where warranty repairs or replacements are required, and coordinating with the transport team where necessary
Keeping the hire team informed of repair timeframes to help prevent unnecessary outsourced hires
Carrying out scheduled maintenance and firmware updates
Minimising equipment downtime and ensuring all repair items are dealt with efficiently
Investigating equipment related issues raised in show reports, fault finding where required, and creating service tickets for faulty equipment
Maintaining a working knowledge of a diverse range of lighting and AV equipment, and actively developing this knowledge as new models, standards, practices and technologies emerge
Undertaking training where required to support role development
Accurately recording the details of all repairs in the service module, including parts, labour and transport
Assembling and testing bespoke electrical elements (such as set practical’s, chandeliers, etc.)
Attending site where required to support technical needs
Maintaining appropriate stock levels of warehouse consumables
Maintaining a high standard of housekeeping within the parts and consumables stores
Identifying and ordering spare parts required for repairs, and maintaining stock of frequently used items
Supporting goods in and warehouse teams where required
